Help/FAQ

Please see below for setting up Java on your computer to allow AdXpress to work.

If you're still having problems after this, please contact the AdXpress team on adxpress.support@apn.co.nz

We recommend using Internet Explorer to access AdXpress.

Please click 'allow' and 'always run' etc to any Java windows that appear when loading the AdXpress site. With some versions of Java, if you accidentally disallow access you can't allow it again until the settings are reset from the Java configuration or by removing and reinstalling Java.

Getting security access errors

Add the AdXpress website to the Java exception list (with Java version 7+ installed)
  1. Click the ‘start’ button and type ‘configure java’ into the search field. Click ‘Configure Java’ when it appears
    • If you don't see this option, you may have an older or no version of Java installed.
    • If you're using a mac, click system preferences cog, then open the java settings.
  2. Click the ‘security’ tab set the security level to the lowest available then click ‘Edit Site List...'
  3. Click ‘Add’
  4. Click the cursor into the entry field... and type: http://www.adxpress.co.nz
  5. Click ‘add’
  6. You will then be asked if you want to include the site, click ‘continue’
  7. You can see that adxpress is now listed under ‘location’, click ‘ok’
  8. Click the ‘apply’ button. This has to be clicked to complete the process and add the site as an exception. If the ‘apply’ button is shaded out and can’t be clicked, try clicking ‘very high’ then back to ‘high’ and you may see that the ‘apply’ button is now unshaded and can be clicked. If not, you need to contact your I.T. support to make this change for you.
  9. Close all browser windows, open a new browser window and login to Adxpress.

Allow Java and AdXpress for Safari (if using a mac)

  2. Click the 'Security' tab
  3. Ensure 'Enable JavaScript' is checked
  4. Ensure 'Allow plug-ins' is checked
  5. Click the 'Website settings...' button for the Internet plug-ins

    • Make sure the website adxpress.co.nz is set to 'Allow' or 'Always Allow'
  6. Close all browser windows, open a new browser and login to Adxpress.

Still having problems, or can't add the exception; try using an older (known to work) version of Java
  1. Remove previous versions of Java using 'Add/Remove Programs' or 'Programs and Features' (depending on your version of Windows Operating System) from the Control Panel
    • Having problems removing Java / getting it off completely? Use the JavaRa application which you can download from singularlabs.com/software/javara/
    • NOTE: PLEASE don't use the 'Update Java Runtime' that this application offers. We want to use an older version as in the next step!
  2. Download the 32bit version of Java v6 u33 (links below also); and install
  3. Add http://www.adxpress.co.nz to the Trusted Sites in Internet Explorer (see guide above)
  4. Close all browser windows and open a new Internet Explorer browser and login to Adxpress.
